Currently building in stealth--:--:--local

Startup founder. Hands-on builder.

An idea isjust the start.

I’m Joshua. I build useful products, connecting the business thinking with the code that makes it happen.

01 / Work

Ideas, made real.

A selection of products I’ve built and the problems behind them.

The idea behind Obserra

Make room for something else.

Two hours of video a day adds up to fourteen hours a week. Set a limit and watch what comes back.

Each block is 15 minutes. Solid is watching; light is time back.

0hback in your weekA full workday back, every week.

Spend it on

That could be 14 half-hour walks. Your time, your choice.

An illustrative calculator, not the live app. The real Obserra adds analytics, a browser extension, and synced limits.

Obserra

Less endless watching. More intentional time.

A web app and browser extension that help people take control of their time on YouTube. Set watch-time limits, understand viewing habits, and keep everything in sync.

Behind the build

I built the product end to end: the Next.js application, browser extension, real-time data sync, and Stripe subscriptions. Along the way, I solved cross-origin communication between the extension and API, added AI-powered video categorisation, and deployed with Docker.

Game interface

One game. Every player in sync.

A multiplayer game built around a rising multiplier, virtual credits, and split-second decisions. An exploration of maths, algorithms, and real-time systems.

Behind the build

A Node.js server runs the multiplier logic and broadcasts updates over Socket.io. I built the React interface and synchronisation layer so every player sees the same game state, with a focus on performance under load. All credits are virtual.

02 / Process

From a hunch to something people use.

Every product travels the same short path. Pick a stage to see how I move along it.

Worth a look

It starts as a feeling.

A recurring problem, a rough thought, a note in your phone. Most ideas stop here. The work is choosing one and giving it a shape.

03 / Experience

Built on
experience.

From running servers to building companies. Each chapter informs the next.

What I’m building now

A new chapter in healthtech.

Working on a stealth startup, bringing together personalised experiences and full-stack engineering.

2025 - Present

04 / About

Curious by default.
Builder by choice.

I like understanding how things work, then finding a way to make them better. Startups bring together the things I enjoy most: technology, business, and solving real problems.

Beyond the product

Making room for
the next builder.

I started a coding club at my local college, creating and running weekly Python workshops for 15+ students over six months.

From hands-on exercises to one-to-one mentoring, helping someone write their first working program was just as rewarding as shipping my own.

A foundation in more than code.

Always interested in

Startups, open source, server infrastructure, new technologies, finance and investing.

05 / Stack

The tools behind the work.

Chosen for the problem, not the trend.

06 / Contact

Good things start with a conversation.

What are you
thinking about?

A project, an idea, or just a hello. I’d love to hear from you.
